چکیده

Objectives To compare the effectiveness of deproteinized bovine bone mineral with 10% collagen alone (DBBMC) or enamel matrix derivative (DBBMC-EMD) in ridge preservation. Methods 42 maxillary anterior teeth were extracted and received either a DBBMC (control) DBBMC-EMD (test) treatment protocol. CBCT taken before 4 months after extraction procedure was used to measure changes alveolar width (RW), buccal height (BH) palatal (PH). Bone cores harvested during implant osteotomy preparation, samples processed histomorphometrically assess fraction new (%NB), residual graft (%RG) soft tissue (%STM). Results Overall, both groups showed significant reductions mean RW from baseline extraction, but no change BH PH over this time. When measurements analysed according initial thickness wall (BT < 1 mm vs. BT ? mm), all dimensions (RW, PH) noted <1 group. Histomorphometrically, test group significantly increased formation (%NB): (control = 16.5 ± 6.9% cf.; 45.1 8.8%) less (%RG): 36.8 8.8% 20.3 7.2%) compared control Conclusions Both treated sites lost PH. Irrespective treatment, thick walls (?1 mm) exhibited reduction treatment. The addition EMD resulted more

Soft tissue augmentation of ridge defects in the maxillary anterior area using two different methods: a randomized controlled clinical trial.

OBJECTIVES To test whether or not vascularized interpositional periosteal-connective tissue grafts are as successful as free subepithelial connective tissue grafts in augmenting volume defects in the anterior maxilla. MATERIAL AND METHODS Twenty subjects with Seibert class 1 ridge defects in the anterior maxilla were randomly, equally assigned to augmentation by vascularized interpositional p...

Two-year randomized clinical trial of enamel matrix derivative treated infrabony defects: radiographic analysis

BACKGROUND This split-mouth, double-blind randomized controlled trial evaluated radiographic changes in infrabony defects treated with open flap debridement (OFD) or OFD associated with enamel matrix derivative (EMD) after a 24-month follow-up. The radiographic distance from the CEJ to the bottom of the defect (BD) was considered the primary outcome. CEJ-BC and defect angle were secondary outco...

Mishmash Impression Technique for Managing Maxillary Anterior Fibrous Ridge

Introduction: Flabby or fibrous ridge is one of the consequences of long term wearing of complete dentures. It can develop where hyperplasic soft tissue replaces the alveolar bone and is a common finding, particularly in the upper anterior region of long term denture wearers. Forces exerted during impression making can result in distortion of the mobile tissue unless managed appropriately; such...

The effect of enamel matrix derivative (Emdogain) on bone formation: a systematic review.

This systematic review focused on the question, if and to what extent enamel matrix derivative (Emdogain) [EMD]) promotes the regeneration of bone. The influence of combinations with other biomaterials was additionally evaluated. Twenty histomorphometric studies were included in this systematic review. Main results of the reviewed articles were (i) guide tissue regeneration (GTR) of infrabony d...

Clinical Marginal and Internal Adaptation of Maxillary Anterior Single All-Ceramic Crowns and 2-year Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial.

PURPOSE The aims of this randomized-controlled clinical trial were to compare marginal and internal adaptation of all-ceramic crowns fabricated with CAD/CAM and heat-pressed (HP) techniques before luting and to evaluate the clinical outcomes at baseline and at 6, 12, and 24 months after luting. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifteen CAD/CAM (CC) and 15 HP all-ceramic crowns were placed in 15 patients....
